I’ve had the LUME Pocket for over 18 months and am largely happy with it. It is a nice, compact light to carry with your keys. It is a floodlight only, so doesn’t have a huge throw.
The USB-C port is a good addition, as it’s easier to connect than Mini or Micro USB 2.0 ports. Considering the LUME Pocket is expected to go in pockets, handbags and purses, it should have a dust cover over the port. This is an obvious and disappointing oversight.
Perhaps its biggest flaw is that it can easily be activated unintentionally, as there is no lock or mechanism to prevent the switch being operated accidentally. Again, this is an obvious flaw that should have been addressed before launch.
With occasional use, it seldom needs charging, and includes an LED to indicate when charging is complete.
It would be even better if it offered flood and spot beams, but in terms of seeing locks to put your key in, where you are walking, and a large area, close up, it works well.
Overall, it’s a decent version one, but considering Carbon Collective’s usual attention to detail, you would expect them to get it right first time.
